How do Attitudes towards immigrants,blacks and other minorities reflect the intolerance of the decade?
Most people were scared of Immigrants. Blacks were treated as minorities and were bottom of the chain in society. The nostalgia from the past conflict with the modern ideas of the decade by how foreigners were let in and hate groups were destroyed immediately. But now the KKK was on the rise and immigrants were unaccepted in the U.S.

Immigration Restriction/Nativism
After the WW1, there had been huge tension about immigration in the U.S with foreignors. The anti-German and Nativists, people felt strong opposition against immigration. The US would pass an immigration restriction act in 1924, known as the Immigration Act of 1924. The act limited numbers of immigrants from a country to 2% of the certain number of immigrants from that country to come to the US. Nativism was very strong during this time period. With the war and new immigration acts, nativist ideas started to open. Americans felt threatened by foreigners in many ways towards economy and lifestyle.

The KKK was the Ku Klux Klan. They were founded in 1866, but ended with the Force Act and put down by the government. In the 1920's, they reunified. They were a radical group that was not fore Catholics, Jews and foreigners. They supported nativism and fundamentalistic thinking. Members of the KKK all poor people. They were middle class, rich, lawyers and doctors. Not only did it spread through out the different classes of society, it spread across the whole nation. It peaked a high of 7 to 8 million followers. Gaining support stragedy called decade. The KKK would eventually become a well known white supremacists group for the native land of the whites and U.S only.

What was the Red Scare and the Palmer Raids
Red Scare was a great fear of communism, socialism, and anarchism spreading withing the nation. People started to fear the world spread of ways in the U.S. Anarchist would strike even more fear into the people through there bombings and raids. To prevent the spread, lots of people were put in jail. During this time, civil liberties were abandoned to protect the nation as a whole not single. The Palmer Raids were attempts by the US Department of Justice to arrest and deport radical leftists. The raid started around November of 1919 and ended around early 1920. Hundreds of foreigners were deported and the U.S felt somewhat safe.
Sacco and Vanzetti Trial Suspicion?
The Sacco and Vanzetti Trials were trials against Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. This was a conviction trial against a case of the murder of shoe factory owner. During these trials, there were many Italians that stated they didn't do it, due to bad translation by the American jury convicting them. This trial would show that people during this time, the U.S was merely against foreigners.
Scopes Trial
The Scopes Trial was the State of Tennessee v. John Thomas Scopes. The state had accused Scopes for breaking the Butler Act. The Butler Act didn't allow the teachings of human evolution in a state-funded school. Scopes would be found guilty and would have to pay an a hundred dollar fine. This case was a fundamentalism/creationism vs. evolution ordeal. People of back then strongly believed in the Bible and its principals of Christianity. While people of the new ways started to stray away from the strong teaching of the Bible and started to accept evolution. This trial was an example of the old vs new on the bible teaching from the old vs the new evolution theory.

The 20's was a time of fear for many people. After the WW1, Americans started to fear immigrants. With this fear, they passed immigration laws restricting the number of immigrants. Along with that people joined nativist groups and the KKK. To be successful, Americans felt that a sense of unity had to be met. This sense of Americanism was found through these radical groups and laws.
